Course description
Do you own a sewing machine or have you received one as a present but not sure how to use it? Have you tried to use a sewing machine but things didn't quite go to plan? If you would like to learn how to make basic items of clothing, or clothing alterations and repairs for yourself or your family, this online course is for you. This online course will cover the basics of using a sewing machine to do a variety of sewing projects/crafts for around the home or personal use. You will learn how to use a sewing machine with confidence to save money, while experiencing the satisfaction and fulfilment of creating your own sewing projects. You will learn how to thread and set up a sewing machine for a variety of projects and tasks, including how to determine the most appropriate fabrics and their seam types to use. You will learn how to determine and select appropriate needles and threads for the project at hand. You will learn to identify and troubleshoot problems which commonly arise and you will become familiar with sewing terms and jargon.
